A three-week celebration of art staged at venues in and around the Marunouchi area of Tokyo

This spring, all the latest happenings in the art workld will be on display in the Marunouchi area, from the work of fresh talents just out of the art schools, to an international art fair with a broad view of the art scene around the world.

Starting from the first floor of the Marunouchi Building, we’ve created a walking trail of Marunouchi that links you to all the art spots in the area. With this map in hand, we wish you all many happy trails on this spring jaunt through the Tokyo art world!

ART AWARD TOKYO (A.A.T.)

Fri 4/4–Tue 5/6(holiday) 11:00–20:00 Gyoko Chika Gallery(under Gyoko-dori) Free Admission

An exhibition that aims to discover and support young Japanese artists, displaying about 45 works chosen from the graduation exhibitions of major Japanese art colleges. Awards will be given to the most outstanding artists.

Judges: Taro Amano (curator); Shihoko Iida (curator); Shigeo Goto (editor, creative director, professor,); Kazue Kobata (P.S.1 adjunct curator); Tomio Koyama (Gallerist); Naoki Sato (art director, associate professor); Akiya Takahashi (museum director); Yuko Hasegawa (curator).

Cafe Ease will be transformed into an ”art cafe”, free for visitors to use as a hub of action during Art Weeks in Maru­nouchi. Talks will also be organ­ized at the cafe.
