Judge's comment
This work, which stood out among the exhibited works, was inspired by historical forms, but also had an interesting three-dimensional form that was difficult to associate with a specific region or culture, as well as wearable costumes and devices. By combining these functions, it had an appeal that stirred the imagination of viewers. At a time when it is difficult to convey physical sensations, this work evokes a supple, tactile, and anti-gravity sensation.

Judge's comment
It creates a world where fun and unusual characters, like circus characters, coexist. The combination of smooth material and transparent color is also attractive. However, the work is not straightforward. You can't miss the fact that beneath its cute appearance lies a mysterious fear.

Judge's comment
The award-winning work draws on images from religious paintings owned by Hidden Christians and prints used for missionary work in Asia, with some parts carved out to resemble woodblock prints. In this work, the artist, who is a Christian, uses sacred paintings to depict his own religious experience, the thoughts and time of religious people who existed in history, and the intimate world and questions that connect past and present. I would like to evaluate and support works that sincerely tackle such themes.

Judge's comment
The video, which is created by researching real people from various eras in the past and reconstructing the images that emerge using simple CG, shows that there is no history, and like CG, it is something that has been redrawn by someone else's hands. We urge you to reconfirm the fact that I think that the layered composition with the map on the canvas, which was arranged to frame the two screens, was also a device that made the structure of the work more effective.

Judge's comment
At first glance, it may seem like a pop culture idea, but his ambitious creations, which correspond to the high-dimensional nature of the times, are highly praised for their outstanding foresight. His selection of motifs, colors, and finishes is also interesting, and I think he is a talented artist who is expected to make a big splash in the future.

Judge's comment
Mr. Kawazumi's work surprised me when it was exhibited at the university. A colorful lump that looks like a sculpture or some kind of living thing stands out on the tatami mat. Its presence, which strongly appeals to both the visual and tactile senses, has a nostalgic charm, making it feel like a lump that has been there for a long time has been highlighted, rather than a piece of work that was created.

Judge's comment
Although this is a series of four works using hair as a motif, it is interesting to see the differences in how each theme is treated, such as familiar everyday scenes and scenes with social meaning. It should also be highly praised for its fullness as a pictorial space, with the ground coating not being uniform but showing nuances that correspond to the brushstrokes used to depict the image.

Judge's comment
The first thing that catches your eye is the unstable support swaying in the wind, but if you look closely at the painted image, you will see that an architectural space is formed in which the group of human bodies and the painting correspond. It seems to show the fragility of the world as we see it now, and I was struck by the gap between the material and the image.

Judge's comment
Unlike painting, where paint is added, wood carving is a continuous process of inserting a knife into the original tree, carving it, and carving it. At the end of that, a ridiculously large, incorporeal and deceptive form appears, resembling 3D data. The carefully finished surfaces and contours have been smeared with spray paint. I understand that this is an attempt to overflow with the joy of creation in every situation that would otherwise be dragged down into barrenness. I want people to believe more in what they create.

Judge's comment
Kaoru Taguchi's work ``The Madonna of East Asia'' features figures from Christian iconography, and her work combines delicacy, baroque, precision, and richness, and combines painting and woodblock prints. Mixing things up, he intersects his own personal history with figures from religious paintings. The encounter between Japan and other cultures is depicted by making full use of various perspectives and intersecting elements and shapes that do not normally belong on the same plane.

The stable structure of the lattice is drawn on the base, and the spilled paint spreads freely on top of it.This is OCA TOKYO, which is taking on the challenge of creating a new Lifestyle on the stable foundation of Marunouchi. It overlapped. In addition, OCA TOKYO has 69 contemporary art pieces on display inside the building, and we are also inviting Mr. Matsuoka, who won this year's award, to exhibit them and provide an opportunity for him to make a presentation to the members.
