Author's comment

While learning from the primordial spirits that live in folk beliefs so that the future we can see now will not be swept away,
I want to weave a story that we should watch in this era.

Judge's review
The sketches clearly have traditional Japanese painting motifs and painting techniques, and are interesting in that they also contain references to Eastern and Western religious paintings. However, what is important is the motif of "animals." Rather than sanctifying humans and sublimating them into icons, finding holiness in the ``animals'' themselves is a new horizon for animism, and we have high hopes for this. (Shigeo Goto)
