Author's comment

I want to make things that are there, things that were there, things that exist but cannot be conscious of, exist for as long as possible in this way.

Judge's review

The three-dimensional works created using this unique production process are sculptures, yet they exist with a hint of ephemera. The effect of inflated colorful rubber balloons and a pure white plaster-like substance suspended inside them. The result is a form that appeals to the viewer's eyes to be as dangerous and fragile as a collection of broken eggshells. A coexistence of glamor and cruel fragility. An endless loss of materiality and a light sense of humor. (Akiya Takahashi)
