Message from a.a.t.m.2011 winners

Masanori Koyama
I was inspired by the fact that this was an exhibition that would bring together the best in art from all over the country. It was a very valuable experience, as the many judges and audience members asked me things that I would not have noticed if I was just creating the work myself. Please enjoy the encounter.

French Embassy Award
My world changed when I won the second prize and the French Embassy Award at ATM. I feel that there is a possibility of going overseas, and at the same time, I feel that the world I need to know is expanding infinitely.
What kind of Artist do you want to be? How can I respond to this question? I would be happy if I could believe in myself and create works.

At a.a.t.m., works in a variety of media are displayed in showcases. In comparing them, I thought about contemporaneity and the freedom that individual forms of expression can deliver. The experience of being able to talk about your work with the judges and other artists of the same generation from various fields is valuable. I was happy that the people I met there later came to see my solo exhibition.
