Author's comment

We searched for a system that could be approached simultaneously and continuously. Specifically, toilet paper moistened with water was placed and left for over 10 hours.

Judge's comment

The dyes applied to the toilet paper create brightly colored "stains" on the cloth. The collection of panels with expanding folds stirs the viewer's sense of skin and the physiology deep within the body. Undefined "spots" and "folds" are destined to disappear over time. The challenge is how to turn that time into a work of art. (Shigeo Goto)
