Author's comment

The feeling of openness feels good! I aim to create works that touch that feeling.
Lately, I've been interested in the rhythm of plants, the color schemes of ethnic patterns, and people's faces.

Judge's comment

There are Artist from a kinder era. Fukumoto is probably one of those people. Bright colors, traditional dyeing and weaving found in Asian countries. The paintings created in honest response to new encounters have a somewhat nostalgic and idyllic atmosphere. This is the starting point for a journey to discover yourself more deeply. I would like to see that journey. (Yusaku Imamura)
