Author's comment

Monookuri is a work that connects the problem of nuclear waste disposal from nuclear power plants with the idea of a rural society welcoming the gods and ancestors that reside in nature. I would like to record points in history through the language of painting.

Judge's comment

The call of Anima hidden deep in the mountains, oceans, forests, and rivers of Tohoku. This artist's paintings create a world in which exotic fantasy and pure natural orientation are mixed together, and they are steeped in a mysterious nostalgia reminiscent of the world of folk tales and a sharp foreshadowing of the modern era.
