Author's comment
In many cases, the visual angle precedes the sense of touch, but the sensation then depends on the sense of touch.
I am thinking about the value of sculpture in a time when, paradoxically, there is a demand for on-site experiences.
Judge's comment
There are two evaluations. One is that we are trying to create a unique system that expands what we can see in a tactile manner, centered around the body. Second, on the contrary, he is attempting to break with the systematic thinking of contemporary art and directly create new sculptures. (Shigeo Goto)
In Yanaka's works, two different cognitions, the physical, tactile perception of the world and the visual abstraction of the world, conflict with each other but are interrelated in an exquisite balance. I was delighted to see the emergence of a talent that discovered this new realm of sensation, and at the same time, I was able to experience Daigomi of sculpture. I look forward to seeing his future activities. (Yusaku Imamura)
The clear concept of touch and vision and the completeness of the installation create a persuasive feeling. (Tomio Koyama)
