Message from the judges

Tomio Koyama
About the 3rd AATM

The world, including Japan, is in a lot of trouble right now.
However, Artist have continued to create works throughout the ages. Continuing to search for new value. And now may be our greatest chance to present something new and the courage to create it.
I believe that the main purpose of the 3rd Art Award Tokyo is to look at our own times and find the talent and will to create history.
Please look forward to it.

Shigeo Goto
Showcase of Omens, AATM

Whether we like it or not, all forms of expression are the ``products'' of the times. Easy times do not necessarily produce masterpieces; on the contrary, art emerges from an invisible chaos that is a mixture of anxiety and hope.
Over the past few years, AATM has grown into a powerful showcase for the most remarkable talent, and that's because it's both challenging and exciting for creators and viewers (choosers).
It's thrilling to think about what kind of foreboding work I'll encounter that will change the world!
