I like quiet, easily forgotten presence and emotion. I create my work by trusting that feeling.

Judge's review

This artist's three-dimensional sculptures, which seem to have been etched into ancient memories, are colored with mysterious metaphors that are a bit different from the edgy works that surround them. These three-dimensional objects have shapes and sizes that seem to have been requested for a special purpose as industrial products, yet they are decorated with unrealistic motifs that are almost virtual. There is something unique about the presence of these structures, which are suddenly presented without any coloring. (Akiya Takahashi)
