Author's comment

The signs of aging, such as tree rings, are reproduced using synthetic resin.
It's a small amount compared to natural objects, but at least it's a testament to the time I've been involved with the material.

Judge's review

Kimura's works are born from physical tasks such as falling and rotating. Paint is dripped over and over again onto the rotating spindle, and the natural forces are applied to create the shape. It feels like all the forces of the universe are involved in its creation. The universe pervades the cross-section, connecting the outside and the inside of the work, and an infinite and vast world expands around the work. (Tomio Koyama)
