[작품리서치]
주요 미술대학의 졸업제작전을 리서치. 제1차 심사 대상 작품을 「AAT」사무국에서 선정. (이번은 도쿄, 교토를 중심으로 한 미술 대학의 졸업 제작전을 대상으로 했습니다)

심사회에 의해 1차 심사 통과 작품을 선정(3/24 개최)

[갤러리 전시]
ー차 심사 통과 작품을 행행 지하 갤러리로 전시(4/27~5/27)
↓
[2차 심사]
AAT 커미티(심사원 및 게스트 심사원)가 전시한 작품 중에서 어워드 수상자를 결정.
※ 2차 심사회는 일반 견학자 앞에서 공개로 실시합니다. (5/6 Sun 15:00~전시 회장에서)

이번 의의는 새로운 젊은 아티스트 지원하는 구조로 파악해야 할 것입니다. 따라서 앞으로 향해 예상되는 전시공간의 제약 등은 그것을 역으로 취하는 작가들의 대처에 크게 기대하고 싶은 곳입니다.
아마노 타로

AAT is most properly perceived as a new system with a purpose to support young artists. Therefore I have great expectations in seeing how the artists advantageously deal with the various restrictions in the exhibition space which will most likely present themselves
타로 아마노

좋은 작가를 배출하는 장소가 되도록 계속하는 것. 특색을 유지하면서도, 도심·지하·통로라는 장소의 성격에 미끄러지는 유연한 시스템인 것. 그리고 젊은 아티스트 에게는, 그 틀을 넘는 정도 자신의 표현 실천에 진지하고 도전적이었으면 좋겠습니다.

Keep AAT as a platform that produces good artists. Keep it as a system
with its own colors yet flexible enough to slip into the nature of the
location as an urban and underground passage. And, I expect young artists
to be sincere and challenging to your own artistic practices so as to
surpass the framework AAT tries to establish .

아트 어워드 도쿄는 컨템포러리 아트의 '미슐랭'과 같이 학교와 경력을 넘어 도쿄, 아니 일본의 가장 에머징에서 주목할 만한 재능을 은밀히 발굴하고 가치있게 만드는 프로젝트여야 한다. 이번 선발에 있어서 통감한 것은 '슈퍼 플랫'과 '마이크로팝'조차 넘어선 '다음 움직임'이 일본에서 시작되고 있다는 것이다.
고토 시게오

Art Award Tokyo must become the "Michelin" in the world of contemporary art, a project that surveys all schools and careers in order to discover and valuate the hottest and emerging talents not only in Tokyo but in the whole country of Japan. In making the selections I became keenly aware of the fact that what is now arising in Japan is quite beyond "Superflat" and "Micropop"; It's the "Next Movement."
Shigeo Goto

수도의 중심점 지하에 어쨌든 기폭제가 설치되어 있다. 발표의 장으로서 젊은 작가들의 지원이 되는 것은 물론, 우연히 걸리는 보행자의 몸에 무슨 일이 일어날까. 서로 미래가 일변하는 기우를 받는 장소가 되기를 꿈꿉니다. 교코도리 거리가 돼!
木幡和枝

A priming is set up in the heart of the metropolis under the ground. Not only does AAT provide a space for young artists to present themselves in public, but it also gives a bit of thrill as to what could possibly befall upon the passers-by who just happen to walk through it. I'm fancying how this could become a place of excitement filled with chances that may completely change the future for both artists and lookers. May Gyoko -dori (Imperial Parade Boulevard) become a Gyoko Good Luck Boulevard)!
카즈에 코바타

학교의 아틀리에에서 제작된 작품이 많은 사람의 눈에 닿아 감동을 가져다가 사람들의 기억 속에 새겨진다. 그 때 작품은 사회적으로 리얼한 것으로 나타나며 그 순간 진정한 의미로 아티스트가 태어난다고 생각한다.
오야마 등 미오

An artwork produced in an artist's studio in school is brought out to be seen by the eyes of many people. It touches the people's hearts to make a deep and memorable impression. That is when a piece of work comes forth as socially real, and, at that very moment, an artist is born in the true sense.

언제든지 뛰어난 표현의 배경에는 무브먼트가 있다. AAT가 앞으로의 세대를 위한 중요한 무대가 될 가능성은 충분히 있어, 결집하고 있는 작품군에서는 이미 다음 되는 무브먼트의 윤곽과 같은 것이 보이고 숨어 있다.
사토 나오키

예외적인 표현형식 뒤에는 언제나 사회적 움직임이 숨어있다 AAT는 다음 세대에게 중요한 무대가 될 가능성이 충분하며, 지금까지 수집한 작품군 중에서 그 윤곽이 무엇인지 이미 엿볼 수 있었다. 앞으로 다가올 다음 움직임.
나오키 사토

작품이 보이고 의미를 부여받기를 기다리고 있습니다. 매일 아부쿠처럼 생산되는 작품과 정보 중에서 이것을 선택하고 의미의 좌표에 두는 것은 용기와 근기있는 일이라고 생각합니다. 보는 사람은 이 좌표 중에서 작품—자신에게 있어서의 의미와의 만남을 체험할 것입니다. AAT는 의미를 생산하는 데 기여할 것입니다.
하세가와 유코

Any piece of art work longs to be seen and to be given meaning. Making the selection from numerous artworks and information that daily bubbles forth and giving them a meaningful allocation is a task that requires a lot of courage and patience. Viewers shall encounter with what has been allocated―an encounter meaningful to each and every one of us. AAT is certain to make a great contribution in creating more denotations.
