The annual mooncake "SunnyHills Mooncake" will be on sale in limited quantities from Mon, September 1st.
In Taiwan, the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, which this year falls on Mon October 6th.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the three major festivals, along with the Chinese New Year and the Dragon Boat Festival. It is a day to reunite with family and friends and pray for good health and prosperity. Gazing at the shining, round moon and eating mooncakes with loved ones—such warm moments unfold on this day.
For this special season, SunnyHills has prepared a pineapple mooncake. The filling is made from "earthen pineapples" grown in the sunshine of Taiwan, and is combined with a rich custard made with salted egg yolk, all wrapped in a moist and fragrant crust.
The deep flavor, which combines the sweetness of the fruit with just the right amount of acidity and a hint of saltiness, makes this the perfect bite to enjoy at a social gathering.
As the season deepens, be sure to enjoy the autumn atmosphere of Taiwan.
