GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi We will be Organizer an international conference called "Sustainable Brand Japan" (operated by Sinc Co., Ltd.). Sustainable Brands International Conference 2026, Marunouchi, Tokyo In conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, we will be holding the exhibition "The Future of the Boundary - The Form of the Relationship Between Nature and Humans that Has Been Reconnected" (planned and produced by Hakuten Co., Ltd.).

The concept of sustainability is not limited to technologies for reducing environmental impact or achieving quantifiable goals. At its core is a perspective on the relationship between people and the environment that has been built and the type of relationship that will continue into the future.
The relationship between humans and nature has shifted from an era of coexistence, when humans "lived in harmony with the environment," before the development of culture and technology, to an era of "symbiosis," where humans come to terms with the environment through the development of technology, systems, and culture. We are now entering a phase of "co-creation," where nature and humans create value together.

This exhibition uses these changes in the relationship between humans and nature as a clue to reexamine how we interact with the environment. Through materials, technology, ideas, and human activities, we reconsider sustainability not just as a "system" or "numbers" but as a relationship, and explore new possibilities that may open up for the future.

■About HAKUTEN CIRCULAR DESIGN ROOM
This is a specialized organization for exhibitions and exhibitions whose mission is to reduce the environmental impact of Events while also providing high creativity and experiential value, with a focus on resource recycling.
Starting in 2023, we are conducting research, prototyping, product development, and implementation of resource-circulating Events. Through our Events, we aim to use Events and the experiences they provide as a starting point to encourage behavioral change toward a more resource-circulating society.
Over the past three years, we have planned and produced exhibitions at Good Design Marunouchi, including the 2023 exhibition "Recipes for Circulation," the 2024 exhibition "Indigenous Knowledge," and the 2025 exhibition "Expanded Perspective." With this latest exhibition, "Memories of the Border," we aim to provide new learnings and insights from a different perspective than before.
