GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi will be holding the "Design Exhibition for Fandom Activities" from March 28th Sat as the 5th selected project from the open call for entries. (Co-sponsored by: "Design Exhibition for Fandom Activities" Production Committee)
The "Design Exhibition for Fandom Activities" is an exhibition that examines "fandom activities," which are often seen as mere consumption, from a design perspective. From fans and cheering advertisements to ita-bags, these are the culmination of ideas and trial and error driven by feelings for one's favorite idol. Please enjoy these "designs" that are imbued with the passion of fandom activities.
【statement】
Engaging in fan activities is a continuous process of creativity and ingenuity.
I also made a fan to get noticed by my favorite idol.
There are also support ads to help spread the word about your favorite idol.
They also have ita-bags for carrying around your favorite idol.
Driven by feelings for my favorite idol,
It's the culmination of ideas and trial and error.
Such a wide variety of "feelings" are reflected in the designs.
Please enjoy the passion it conveys.
[Exhibition contents]
This exhibition is divided into seven main areas.
The event features a variety of content, from a section showcasing real-life designs born from idol fan activities, such as homemade fans brought to concerts, "ita-bags" (bags decorated with tons of badges of their favorite idols), and "altars" where fans display their favorite idol's merchandise, to content collaborating with actual idols.
This content can be enjoyed by a wide range of people, from those who actively support their favorite idols to those who don't.
1: Designs born from fan activities
2: Idols Test the Best Fan Designs
3: What will happen?! Future merchandise for your favorite idols
4: The design of the fandom organization
5: DAISO - The unsung hero supporting your fan activities
6: Design to be popular
7: Shout your love! A message to everyone's favorite idol.
[A word from the planner]
As we look around the city every day, we encounter countless designs. Because of my profession, I unconsciously try to decipher the concepts behind them—what was the intention behind the product, what kind of thinking went into creating the space?
Among them, I still vividly remember the first time I saw a woman carrying an "ita-bag" (a bag decorated with anime/manga merchandise) in the streets of Roppongi a few years ago. The bag was neatly covered with badges, and its shape was designed to make them look even more spectacular. In the midst of the minimalist concrete cityscape, that bag seemed to possess a unique creativity that couldn't be simply categorized as "design."
This exhibition showcases a collection of works born from the intersection of the designer's thought process and their passion for their favorite idols. Designs related to idol activities transcend the boundaries of the word "design," exploring new forms of expression.
