~ Providing a new appreciation experience that combines sight and sound in an outdoor space ~

A new art appreciation experience using Mixed Reality (MR) technology has begun on Marunouchi-Nakadori Ave., Tokyo.
With a smartphone and earphones, you can have an immersive experience that feels as if you are "touching the work with your ears."

Marunouchi Street Gallery is an art project Organizer by Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. since 1972 that permanently exhibits outdoor sculptures in Marunouchi Area Tokyo, and has been loved by many visitors for many years. Now, to coincide with the first change of artworks in three years, a Mixed Reality (MR) experience will be implemented, with the aim of creating an environment where people with various attributes, including visual impairments, can enjoy the art works.
GATARI will create new viewing experiences by utilizing the knowledge it has accumulated through content production and technology demonstration in collaboration with visually impaired people.

*Mixed Reality (MR): A state in which real and digital spaces are seamlessly integrated (mixed), allowing real objects and virtual information to be displayed and operated equally.

The navigator is Sumi Shimamoto, who breathes life into the sculptures.

*If you have already installed Auris, please be sure to update to the latest version when trying out the experience.

*You will need to create an account or log in as a guest during the trial.

STEP 2: Start Auris! Start Auris and select the prologue, then the sound will play and you will be taken to the scan screen.
*Check your surroundings and play in a safe place.

STEP 3: Scan the marker on the flyer with the app's camera to begin the experience!
Each art experience has a marker on the artwork nameplate installed next to the artwork. Select the relevant artwork from the app and load it.

[Notes before the experience]
・This experience is designed to be enjoyed through audio, so people with visual impairments can also enjoy it.
・When using the app, we recommend using open-ear headphones.
・If the app does not start properly, please restart it.

[For safety]
・Some areas may become congested at certain Time Zone or depending on the weather.
・This experience takes place in a public space in the city, so please be mindful of people and vehicles around you while enjoying the experience.
・In order to avoid contact with the artworks and obstacles, visually impaired people are asked to experience the exhibit with someone accompanying them, wherever possible.
・If you are unsure about your surroundings or where you are stepping, do not push yourself and discontinue the experience.
