ABOUT WEAVING PRISMS

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the AATM, this series of exhibitions is being launched as a new initiative to continuously support the activities of past finalists.
The title "Prisms" embodies the image of each artist as an entity that emits its own light, while simultaneously receiving the light of the surroundings to create a diverse array of colors. Various forms of expression "weaving" together will create a space within the city that generates new value.

This exhibition features three artists: Tatsuru Hatayama, the 2026 Grand Prix winner; and Yoriko Takabatake and Takuro Tamayama, both past AATM participants who continue to be at the forefront of the contemporary art world. We hope you will experience how the light each of these artists emits intersects in this Marunouchi space.

01. ABOUT ART AWARD TOKYO MARUNOUCHI (AATM)

AATM was founded in 2007 with the aim of discovering and nurturing young Artist. Judges actually visit graduation exhibitions at art universities and graduate schools nationwide and recommend Artist from their own unique perspectives. Finalists are selected through a unique style of nomination-based application and portfolio review. Providing opportunities to exhibit their work in Marunouchi, approximately 570 talented Artist have launched their careers from here.
AATM continues to evolve, aiming to deliver new perspectives and ways of thinking to viewers through its artworks, and to create enriching encounters between art and audiences.

02. Exhibiting Artists

Yoriko Takabatake (AATM2013 exhibitor, recipient of the Shigeo Goto Award)

Profile
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1982. Currently based in Tokyo and Ibaraki.
Her major solo exhibitions include "LINE (N)" ShugoArts (Tokyo, 2024), "CAVE" ShugoArts (Tokyo, 2022), "MARS" Gana Art Nineone (Seoul, 2022), "Izumi" ShugoArts (Tokyo, 2018), and "Project N 58 Yoriko Takabatake Exhibition" Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery (Tokyo, 2014). Her major group exhibitions include "ABSTRACTION: Awakening and Development of Abstract Painting - From Cézanne, Fauvism, and Cubism to the Present" Artizon Museum (Tokyo, 2023) and "FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2021" Fujiyoshida city center and other locations (Yamanashi, 2021). Her major collections include the Artizon Museum.

Takuro Tamayama (AATM2015 exhibitor, winner of the Shigeo Goto Award)

Profile
Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1990. Currently resides in Tokyo. After graduating from Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts, he completed his graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2015. Recent major exhibitions include "CIRCULATION - Circulation - produce by POETRY Théâtre FAUCET NAGOYA" Matsushige Lock Gate, Nagoya (2025), "Intervenes/Light and Table/Sound as Time/Hole" ANOMALY (Tokyo, 2025), "Takuro Tamayama: FLOOR" Toyota Municipal Museum of Art (2025), "ART IN THE PARK (Under Construction)" Ginza Sony Park (Tokyo, 2024), and "SENSE ISLAND/LAND Island and Land of Senses 2024" (Sarushima, Yokosuka City, 2024).

Tatsuru Hatayama (AATM2026 exhibitor, Grand Prix winner)

Profile
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Global Art Practice. Major exhibitions include "Bug School 2025: Moment Escape" BUG (Tokyo, 2025) and "Colorful Parade" Art Center Ongoing (Tokyo, 2025). Among his awards is the 27th Taro Okamoto Contemporary Art Award Special Prize in 2024.
