Tokyo will be holding a limited Period promotional Events for traditional crafts titled "KOUGEI LOVERS in AUTUMN." In addition to exhibits, demonstrations, crafting experiences, and merchandise sales of Tokyo's traditional crafts, the event will also feature a "Disaster Area Support Fair" where traditional crafts from the disaster-stricken areas will be exhibited and sold to support the recovery efforts following the Noto Peninsula earthquake. The event will also feature a variety of content, including an exhibition of works from a contest aimed at elementary school students, inviting them to submit designs for traditional crafts they would like to use themselves if they existed, as well as an exhibition of new works created by Tokyo-certified traditional craftsmen, a voting event, and an awards ceremony. Discover the charm and joy of traditional crafts by seeing, touching and experiencing them
The event will be packed with content for both adults and children, including 23 crafts lovingly made by skilled artisans, such as Edo Kiriko glass, Edo Kimekomi dolls, Tokyo cloisonné, and Tokyo Western-style umbrellas, and sales of traditional Tokyo crafts by 49 exhibitors, as well as rare demonstrations and talk shows by artisans. There will also be a special exhibition and sale of traditional crafts from 14 crafts and 24 exhibitors from areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake (Ishikawa, Niigata, and Toyama prefectures), including Wajima lacquerware, Kutani ware, Takaoka copperware, Murakami woodcarving with lacquerware, and Kamo paulownia chests.
The Tokyo Traditional Craftsmen Exhibition New Works Competition, where traditional craftsmen certified by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government have taken on the challenge of creating new works, is a participatory competition where "your votes will decide this year's best!" Please come and see the masterpieces created by 23 traditional craftsmen at Venue.
The "I wish there was a traditional craft like this!" design contest was open to elementary school students, and 1,282 entries will be exhibited.

02. At TOKIA, you can try your hand at craftsmanship while learning from a craftsman
There are a total of 16 different craft experiences (Shops) that both adults and children can enjoy!
From November 1st Sat to November 3rd (Mon, national holiday), TOKIA will also be hosting the hugely popular Shops where you can try your hand at the world of traditional crafts. There will be a total of 16 different types of content, which will change daily. Advance reservations are recommended for this rare opportunity to experience craftsmanship while being taught by a craftsman.
