Gion Kitagawa Hanbei is a Japanese tea café established in Gion, Kyoto by Kitagawa Hanbei Shoten, which was founded in 1861 and has won the top prize at over 40 of the 76 national tea fairs held in the past, including those held by contract farmers.
This is the first specialty store in Gion, Kyoto, that offers the quality of Uji tea leaves, which are sold for more than 10 million yen per 10 kg, and are not sold to the general public.
