Born in Miroslav, Czechoslovakia in 1928 into a family of seven generations of blacksmiths, he moved to Lucerne, Switzerland in 1968. ``My work is something that only I can do as a blacksmith.I can express myself through classical and abstract sculptures,'' he said in an interview before his death. He also worked as a forged jewelry creator.
