Enjoy a quiet and warm autumn night where traditional Japanese beauty and the cityscape blend seamlessly.
01. The fantastical spread of "Japanese lights"
Colorful Japanese umbrella lanterns line various points along Otemachi Nakadori Street. The soft light filtering through the washi paper gently illuminates the sophisticated cityscape, creating a fantastical scene that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll along Otemachi Nakadori, paying attention to the different colors, patterns, and arrangements of the Japanese umbrellas in each location.

02. A Landscape of Light Connected by Japanese Umbrellas and Bamboo Crafts
This year, we will be developing a new decoration that combines traditional Japanese umbrella lanterns with bamboo craftsmanship. By layering the bamboo sculptures with the light of the umbrellas, which are the main feature, we will create a scene where Japanese materials and craftsmanship resonate with each other.
This project creates a new point of interest within Otemachi Nakadori, allowing visitors to enjoy the various expressions of Japanese umbrellas as they move between different areas.
03. Two experiences of touching a Japanese umbrella
◇A collection of messages written on a Japanese umbrella lantern to leave behind memories
At Venue, we will have our popular white Japanese umbrella lanterns for guests to write their messages. Please share your thoughts on Events, your feelings about Otemachi, your dreams for the future, and anything else you'd like to convey on the umbrellas.
The messages received will be carefully preserved as memories of the town and will be displayed at future Wa-Illuminations events.
It will be held on both Wed November 4th and Thu November 5th.
◇Experience making a Japanese umbrella by a Japanese umbrella craftsman
Under the guidance of "Shonan Wagasa Eiyu," a maker of traditional Japanese umbrella lanterns, you can experience the process of applying washi paper, one of the steps in making a Japanese umbrella.
